DESCHOOLING ISSA THING GLOBAL MEETUP
A global, monthly, virtual meetup for caregivers who are committed to exploring ways to shift their parenting practices. We will focus on liberatory approaches that center healing and learning as a lifestyle as well as explore the impact and intersection of parenting, education, and race.
When stepping into anything new or outside of our comfort zones, a transition period is always a good way to go. We see it in so many areas, taking on a new job position, getting to know someone, sending our young people to school or not school and much more. The idea that there is a predefined timeline to decondition and acclimate oneself to a new learning pathway is schoolish is itself. If you decide to join our group, we'll get into what schoolishness means and how it shows beyond the walls of colonized education.
